Chuck spoke about his meeting with the Riverton Police Dept.
It was a long day training session that they had invited
Mr. Young to come and discuss what Cert is all about.
A lot of the Department personnel were not aware or familiar
with what the Cert program was, and how we can be utilized
should an emergency occur, they now know that they
can call on us.
It was also mentioned that Central Communications be
involved with CERT- to let them know that we (TRI-BORO) are
available. They will be getting a list of team leaders and members
to have available to them, should the need arise.

WILLINGBORO CERT/CART :
Cyndi – spoke about the meeting between the Willingboro
Cert/Cart.She mentioned how they have invited us to come to
their meetings to see what they do during their meetings.
They do exercises, are very much involved and utilized in their
community. Currently they have five teams. She also made note of
the ID cards that they currently have.
NOTE FROM COUNTY COORDINATOR:
As per Wayne Comegno- County Coordinator- OEM
All ID’s will be just like the other first responders.
This is Top Priority for him.
And we should have them shortly. Please be patient.
BAG IDENTIFICATION:
It was also mentioned about having a way to identify our
team bags. There is a member of the Medford Cert Team that
does silk screening. We just need to come up with a
something to identify each and everyone of our bags.
OEM REPORT:
The floor was opened to John Obuchowski-
He presented the team with our magnetic signage.
He had spoken to the woman from Griffin Sign
Company-Cinnaminson,N.J.,to let her know what we
were looking for and she prepared three sets for us at no
cost.A “thank-you” note will be in the mail shortly.
HALLOWWEN PARADE:
Chuck mentioned the Halloween Parade and how in the past
we have assisted both the Palmyra and Riverton Police
Departments with crowd control. Unfortunately we have not a
total of how many of us are needed, but when we asked for a
show of hands to assist, there was a very responsive
show of hands to assist with crowd control.
RADIOS:
Chuck spoke briefly about the situation with
our radios- He is going to look into getting us
a better set of radios. The one’s that we currently have are
not the best, and have had problems with interference on different
channels. He will see about getting us “real radios”.
BAG INVENTORY:
Eileen went over the list of inventory that each member
should have in his or her bag. She is compiling a list for
Chuck to turn over to Wayne. To make sure that we all have
the same items, green sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc.

It was a beautiful day and hopefully everyone had a great time.

A note from our Friends at CART
Below is the current volunteer lineup for September
outreach events.
Keep in mind, we NEVER turn down additional help, so if you
can lend a hand--give us a shout and we'll set you up.
FYI, I've added another event coming up on Sept. 21st that
would be a great outreach opportunity.
Let me know if you can help.
(see below).
As always, thanks for all you do to promote CART and
it's mission.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 16th--CINNAMINSON DAY-- 1PM TO 4PM
STATUS: Carol Norton-Foell from Tri-Boro CERT has
volunteered to assist us.
We could still use one more person to help her out.

PET EXPO AT BURLINGTON COUNTY
LIBRARY, Westampton --11AM to 3:30 PM.
STATUS: Marcia Rogers, Linda Cribb and Tracy Sunderland,
& Ingrid Kozmin have all volunteered to help
Elaine Sullivan at the microchip clinic.
We could still use more help! This is a pretty big event,
so the more the merrier. :)

A National Preparedness Event at the Country Lakes
Firehouse, Pemberton NJ
NEEDED: 1-2 Volunteers to set up a table at the
firehouse to do community outreach.

Riverton is now aware of CERT and what we can do for them
Monday September 10, 2007-
Chuck Young- Tri- Boro Coordinator went to the Riverton PD this morning and gave a 15 minute presentation on what CERT can do and how we can benefit the Riverton PD. He believes that it went well and they have a better idea of our capabilities. It was a good meeting.
Hopefully now we can try to draw some of the Riverton residents into becoming involved.
Thanks for the info Chuck

Tri Boro Website is in the works !!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke to a fellow team
member who is very knowledgeable when it comes to websites,
hosting them, domains etc.. And while we were searching the
domain sites.. Our name triborocertteam.org is available and that
most likely is how it will read.
It will have similar information, like our blog, but it will also
have some different items as well. Hopefully, we will be up and
running in the next few weeks...
I will keep you posted on that as well as any and all future
training.
Hope that everyone is having a Safe & Happy Holiday weekend..
