A note of Thanks to the Red Cross
A quick note of Thanks to Ken Brown, Dick Essex, and Bob Seiler
for meeting with our team to discuss the first in a series of
Sheleter Training Excercises. Last Wednesday (10/24/07) we learned
and discussed Massive Care. Our next Class is scheduled for Nov.7th.
It was a very informative class especially inlight of the recent fires
and devastaion going on in California.
On a Personal Note: This hit home to me.
I have an Aunt who had to be evacuated from Rancho Bernardo,
and to this day we still have yet to physically speak to her
to know where she is. She did leave a message on my answering
machine that she was okay, but that was two days after the fires
started, and the number where she called from was a wireless, and
when I tried to call, they were not taking any calls. I had sent an
email to the Red Cross but I am sure that they are swamped.
It is times like these that we have to sit and wait, but be grateful
for the men and women that volunteer to help our loved ones.
I may not be there to help her at this time, but I have to hope and pray that someone is taking my place for me., and in the event that should a crisis happen here on the east coast, I would gladly return the favor to someone from the west coast, for taking the time to care for my loved one during this crisis.

Skywarn Spotter Training Session
Thank-you to all the team members that
went to this intersting training. We had
eleven from our group. Six of which were
Palmyra residents and I am sure that this
will help move things along so that the
Borough of Palmyra get the recognition for
"Storm Ready"..
For those of you who are still interested
Chuck will be in touch as to when they will
be offering the Spotter Training session
again at the Burlington County Emergency Services
Training Center in Westampton, N.J.
