7:15pm
1) Acknowledgment to all that participated during recruitment incentives for both April & May. We had seven people sign-up during the Palmyra Safety Day. Once we have a schedule for the upcoming classes- we will be in contact with those that signed up – to get them into a class.Words of gratitude were relayed to the team from both Wayne Comegno and Kevin Tuno for our participation. Some of those that had signed up during Palmyra Day have been contacted and asked to join us at our next meeting.
2) Discussion concerning the upcoming Hepatitis B shots as well as individual team ID’s. to be taken at the June 11th meeting- please note the date change. Again this is not mandatory, however if you choose not to take the shot- you will have to sign off on the refusal. Harry Smith from Palmyra EMS explained the hepatitis shot process to all in attendance. Identification cards will have an area that will have your Emergency Contact Information. Team members were encouraged to wear either their team (Tri-Boro) shirt or any shirt that states CERT on it.
3) Red Cross Shelter training classes are being offered periodically and Wayne is advising us as to when and where- if there is anyone who needs a class or two please advise and we will let you know the schedule. We are still waiting on the Red Cross to get back to us confirming our logistics simulation class that we had previously discussed with them.
4) July 4th parade-most likely will be called to assist the Borough of Riverton with traffic control for that day. In the past we have needed between 5-6 people to do this duty. For those of you that are interested in marching in the parade- we would like all team members to wear the team shirt. If you have not ordered one, please check out the cafepres website- if you have any problems with this please contact Eileen and she will either walk you through it, or if we have enough people that want to order- we can do another bulk order and have them shipped together.
5) The NJSP will be hosting a "Missing Person & Evidential Search Course" at the Burlington County Emergency Training Center in Westampton on June 14th (Saturday). This training will teach our members how to assist at these types of incidents. Class will be held from 8am to 1pm (rain or shine). Training will be conducted in the auditorium, along with demonstrations/training outside. Please advise members to dress accordingly.
