Special Needs Training is set for August 19th at 7:00pm

Tri-Boro CERT will be having a training session held at the Palmyra EMS building on Wednesday August 19th at 7:00pm. Training provided by the MRC. Class will be approximately 2-2:30hrs long. More information to follow.

Five (5) of our members successfully completed the Driver Training Course held on (July 25th)at the ESTC. These members can now operate County vehicles to transport CERT/CART/MRC trailers.

Trailer Training Course on August 1st - at the ESTC in Westampton.

The BCOEM will host a Trailer Training Course on August 1st (Saturday) at the ESTC in Westampton. Class will start at 8am and will be done before 12noon. This hands-on training will familiarize our members with the different type of equipment we have in the CERT, CART and Public Health trailers. Members will get the opportunity to learn how to properly hook-up the trailers, how to properly set-up the trailers and how to properly use the equipment. Selected members will also be given the opportunity to learn how to drive/backup the trailers.

Anyone from Tri-Boro that is interested-please let Chuck or Eileen know-so that we can pass your name along to Wayne for registration for the class.

New CERT Basic Training Course Starting August 11th.

The BCOEM will be hosting a new CERT basic training course that starts on August 11th. Classes will be held at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center (ESTC) located at 53 Academy Drive in Westampton, New Jersey 08060. All classes will begin at 7pm and end at approximately 9:30pm.

Passing of Wayne's Father

Burlington County Times--Burlington, NJ resident
Anthony J. "Tony" Comegno passed away peacefully into God's loving and eternal care on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 in Cooper University Hospital Camden at the age of 79 surrounded by his loving family.

Tony, a loving and dedicated father and family man was born in Burlington, NJ on September 4, 1929. He worked for Rohm and Haas in Bristol, PA as a chemical operator. After his retirement he worked another 20 years as a faithful crossing guard for the Burlington City School District, where he was loved by all the children and families that knew him. Tony also held many part-time jobs through the years and was working on a farm at the tender age of 5. His most precious moments were spent with his loving wife of 59 years, of just spending time together and sharing their undying love for each other. He also loved spending special times with his loving granddaughters watching the Phillies and Eagles games. Tony was known and loved by everyone. He was truly sent from God.

Funeral services will be held 10am Friday at the Full Gospel Fellowship Church, Jacksonville Rd. Springfield Twp. Friends may call the PAGE FUNERAL HOME, 302 E. Union St., Burlington on Thursday from 7 - 9pm. An additional viewing will be held at the church Friday from 9 - 10am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to Cooper University Hospital, 1 Cooper Plaza, Camden, NJ 08103 or Holy Family University (College), 9801 Frankford Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19114. Those wishing may e-mail condolences to the family through www.pagefuneralhome.com.

Our Crowd Control For July 4, 2009

Thank-you to all of our fellow CERT & MRC folks for assisting us with the traffic control assignment for the July 4th parade in the Borough of Riverton-your assistance was greatly appreciated. We would like to personally thank each of you for taking the time during the busy holiday weekend to take on this task.

Riverton Borough will be hosting their annual July 4th parade-Tri-Boro NEEDS YOUR HELP

REMINDER: Riverton Borough will be hosting their annual July 4th parade.The Tri-Boro CERT is requesting additional members to either assist with traffic/control or march in the parade. Addition information pertaining to staging times,locations and parking will be given at a later time.

Tri-Boro NEEDS YOUR HELP, they don't have enough people to assist with this event. Please canvass your membership and determine who would like to participate. Please forward their names to my office ASAP.

Individuals are to report to the Riverton Firehouse/Police Station at 7:45am on July
4th to get your assignments for the day. The parade starts promptly at 10:00am, however Riverton also need the services of CERT for the Annual Bill Oliver Run for Fun Race that takes place before the parade at approximately 8:30am. Please make sure to have your Green vest, baseball cap, and most importantly dress accordingly for the weather; make sure that you have on comfortable shoes.

The parade should conclude at approximately noon. Refreshments are served at the
Riverton Firehouse both during and after the parade. Eileen Young (Tri-Boro CERT) will be the point of contact at the parade.
